Monthly bookkeeping for small businesses

Your books kept current every month in QuickBooks Online, with reports you can use and a bookkeeper you can reach.

What’s included

  • Transaction categorization. Each deposit, purchase, and payment is recorded in the right account—sales, rent, supplies, and so on—so your reports reflect what actually happened.
  • Bank and credit-card reconciliation. Every month, your QuickBooks balances are matched against your bank and credit-card statements. Reconciling catches missing, duplicated, or incorrect entries early.
  • Monthly financial reports. You receive a profit-and-loss statement (income, expenses, and the result for the month) and a balance sheet (what the business owns and owes on a given date).
  • Questions flagged for you. When a transaction isn’t clear—an unfamiliar charge or a deposit without details—I list it for you to clarify instead of guessing.

Who it’s for

Monthly bookkeeping suits owners who want reliable numbers without doing the bookkeeping themselves: service businesses, contractors, retailers, consultants, and other small companies that use—or are ready to use—QuickBooks Online.

If your books are already several months behind, we’ll usually start with a cleanup and catch-up so monthly work begins from accurate balances.

How a typical month works

  1. Transactions flow into QuickBooks through bank connections you authorize, or from statements you share.
  2. I categorize transactions and note anything that needs your input.
  3. Once the month’s statements are available, I reconcile each account.
  4. You receive your monthly reports, and we review them together if your package includes a review call.

What I’ll need from you

  • Access to your QuickBooks Online company through a user or accountant invitation
  • Monthly bank and credit-card statements, if they aren’t available in QuickBooks
  • Timely answers to flagged questions, usually a short list each month

Please don’t share passwords. Bank and QuickBooks access is set up through invitations and connections that you control and can remove at any time.
